Born in 1982, Aman Gupta went to school in Delhi and graduated from Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram. Later, he earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Delhi and studied at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, specializing in accounting and finance between 1999 and 2000.
After completing his education, Gupta worked at Citi Bank for two years. In 2005, he embraced his entrepreneurial spirit, founding Advanced Telemedia Pvt Ltd. Through this venture, he introduced well-known global brands like Telex, Sennheiser, and Beats Audio to the Indian market.
In 2011, Gupta joined KPMG’s Strategy Services Group as a senior management consultant and obtained an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. Following this, he became the director of sales at HARMAN International, overseeing business development for companies such as Micromax, Nokia, and Apple. In 2016, he co-founded boAt with Sameer Mehta.
Within two years, boAt achieved INR 100 crores in sales, starting with a popular charging cable and charger for Apple phones. In 2019, boAt became a leader in the earwear industry, and Aman Gupta received the Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Consumer Durables category. Today, there are close to 5000 boAt flagships in India, and their products have reached nearly 20 million customers.
Aman Gupta believes in earning rather than spending money. boAt has maintained profitability by offering stylish, cost-efficient, and durable products. In 2020, boAt was ranked as the fifth-largest wearable brand globally. Cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, along with actress Jacqueline Fernandez, are among the brand ambassadors.
