"In FY25, the investment for JLR is projected to be around 3.5 billion pounds (approximately Rs 35,000 crore) due to the culmination of several product plans," stated Tata Motors Group CFO PB Balaji during an earnings conference.

Tata Motors group has increased its investment allocation for FY25 to Rs 43,000 crore, focusing on new products and technologies. Jaguar Land Rover, its British subsidiary, will receive the majority of this investment, according to Balaji.

In FY24, Tata Motors had planned a 3 billion pound investment for JLR (around Rs 30,000 crore) and Rs 8,000 crore for Tata Motors, totaling about Rs 38,000 crore. "JLR's investment reached 3.3 billion pounds (over Rs 33,000 crore), while Tata Motors invested over Rs 8,200 crore, totaling around Rs 41,200 crore in FY24," reported Balaji.

Looking ahead to FY25, he emphasized that JLR's investment will be "about 3.5 billion pounds, approximately Rs 35,000 crore, as all product plans align for next year." He noted timing challenges, stating, "These products must launch on schedule."

Balaji mentioned that Tata Motors would maintain its Rs 8,000 crore investment level. "Thus, JLR's investment increases by about 6%, while Tata Motors' investment remains flat," he said, highlighting the focus on products and technologies.

Discussing upcoming products, JLR CFO Richard Molyneux revealed that FY2026 will mark the debut of new products, including the Range Rover BEV and others. He noted, "We will start replacing less profitable models with new ones, boosting EBIT levels." On the Range Rover BEV, he added, "This is a Range Rover with a BEV powertrain, providing the perfect blend of power, quietness, and serenity for the brand's top-end."

Molyneux also mentioned continued development for Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, with the Defender OCTA set to launch later this year.
